Samsung vs Apple


Indonesia - Some internal documents revealed in the trial of old Apple against Samsung in a California court. One of them is Samsung's ambition to beat Apple is used as a top priority.

The internal documents show the evaluation of the performance of Samsung in the year 2011 and the company's plans in 2012. One is the strategy to beat Apple at that time tolerable dominant in the smartphone market with the iPhone.


"Beating Apple is priority number one. Threats from Apple are real (they sold 12.5 million phones in the fourth quarter of 2011)," read one sentence in the document Samsung, quoted from Apple Insider, Tuesday (8/4/2014).


Samsung predicts in 2012, Apple will release the iPhone 5 potentially re-recorded an extraordinary gain. So Samsung must find a way to beat Apple, although at that time Samsung has become the largest mobile phone vendor in the world.

Samsung also will continue to target all price segments. The Galaxy S series is aimed at the upper segment and the other Galaxy series created for middle and lower segments.


Samsung is also no doubt issued smartphones at a price that is really cheap. For example, Young Galaxy series smartphones aimed at the novice user, with a tag of only Rp. 1 million.


Strategies in an internal document that was executed quite well, for example advertising campaign The Next Big Thing in 2012, which parodied current Apple fans queue to buy iPhone while showing the advantages of the series Galaxy S. Samsung became the biggest smartphone vendor in the world today.
